I was wandering through the maze of the Web in an effort to find out why the eyes of Higgins, my oldest and dearest dog, seemed to have become cloudy in the span of a few weeks. I suspected cataracts as the cause and began research so that I might be prepared in case my vet suggested surgery. Although I found many websites when I typed in "pet health," my favorite was HealthyPet.com which is run by the American Animal Hospital Association. Often these types of sites take too long to load and then the information is presented is confusing and unhelpful. However, I found HealthyPet informative and fun to read. The site discusses serious health issues, as well as simple ones such as "Is it OK for my dog to eat grass?" (something I've wondered about but never known until I found this site). Bookmark this one! By the way, Higgins will have cataract surgery on January 27th.
