Susan's "Magic"

Every now and then you come across a simple pleasure that must be shared. It would be tragic if Susan Hamlin remained "the best kept secret in the Adirondacks." Visit her site, read the biography, be mesmerized by the photos, get lost in the music, and learn about one of the real talents in folk music today. Susan's site is a welcome hybrid, taking cues from MP3.com as well as more traditional artist sites. Be sure and check out the music files page to get RealPlayer or MP3 tastes of the CD, "Magic." You can also download an order form (though I wish you could order the disk directly from the site). The guest artist list, in addition to Susan's silken playing and singing, makes this one of my favorite CDs in a rather eclectic collection. Susan's voice is haunting and true and the playing precise, yet heartfelt. Susan considers herself an "unreconstructed folkie." You don't need to be one to fall in love with this music.
