Renaissance Transgender Association

The Renaissance Transgender Association's goal is to provide comprehensive education and caring support to transgendered individuals. To help do this, the group's website offers basic information to transgendered folks (and the people who love them), including lists of local support groups; sample pages from their monthly magazine, TG Community News; outreach bulletins that provide information about starting local support groups; and information regarding the upcoming 4th International Congress on Crossdressing, Sex, and Gender (to be held in Philadelphia May 4-7). In addition, numerous background papers contain information on a variety of subjects, including the myths and misconceptions about crossdressers, reasons for male to female crossdressing, and issues specific to spouses, significant others, and children. Finally, directions are provided for contacting the Renaissance speakers bureau, which provides trained transgendered speakers for colleges, universities, corporate diversity programs, law enforcement agencies, and more. This is a great starting point for discovering more about the transgender community.
