zoom remembered

"0-2-1-9-3, send it to Zoom!" If you're old enough to vote, you're old enough to remember this seminal PBS kids show, which delighted children and bested hostile funding boards from 1972 to 1979. Even though I never could follow along with their pom-pom making instructions, I was hooked on Zoom's wacky skits and Ubbi-Dubbi speak--as were the tens of thousands of other fans, whose mailed-in ideas largely determined the show's content. Fittingly appointed in chartreuse and banana yellow, this site features photos of the first season's cast members and little-known information about the show, as well as several bits of Zoomiana and comments from other nostalgic readers. With shows like this, who needs Teletubbies?
