a Four Stars for Gay history site

Gayhistory.com is a savvy site that articulates the history of gay people in a smooth and palpable fashion. Always under construction, its timeline has articles (in "summary" and "in depth" formats) ranging from 1700 to 1900. This site is so ambitious and so important that I encourage folks go there right NOW and encourage its further development. Coverage begins with the coining of the word sodomy around 1050 and ends (at least for now) with the 1889 "Scandal on Cleveland Street" (a Lord of the Realm was found to be a regular customer at a male brothel). In addition, there is a descriptive list of terms related to gay history ("accommodationism" to "wolf"); a queries and comments section to post ideas and ask questions; links to gay activist organizations, other gay history sites, gay libraries and archives, and sites about sexology, psychology, and psychiatry); a book list; and a series of quizzes about gay history. This is a wonderful site to visit if you're a history buff, but an important place to stop by if you’re not!
