Birds know that. And that's why February and March are great for bird watching in the Sunshine State. Florida ranks second in the amount of money people spend on bird watching: $477 million, according to Conservation Magazine. So some kind folks have created the Great Florida Birding Trail (GFBT), patterned after the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail. Birding sites have already been identified in the northeastern part of the state, and that trail will be ready this spring. Other trail sections in other parts of the state will be added soon. You may also want to print out the GFBT calling cards at http://www.state.fl.us/gfc/viewing/gfbt/callingcard.html . The GFBT folks are hoping you'll leave them at restaurants, hotels, or wherever you go bird watching so others will know you're giving them your business because of your love of birds. And you don’t even have to live in or visit Florida to use them! Thu, 16 Mar 2000 07:40:36 -0800 Submitted by: Holly Ambrose
