Worldwide Text Phones for the Deaf

In the past, people who were deaf were unable to call other countries because each country had different protocols for text telephones. Now there is a new technology just released that makes it possible for all-text communication no matter where the call is placed. Ultratec, Inc., is the largest manufacturer of text telephones in the world. This company worked in conjunction with different countries to develop this new phone based on V.18T mode of transmission, which is similar to the technology that fax machines use. Text phones allow people who are deaf or hard of hearing to type messages back and forth on a special keyboard.
