Top » Science & Technologythought you'd seen the last of the periodic table?Site: http://www.wou.edu/LiberalArtsScience/Physical_science/ch412/perI don't know about you, but hearing the phrase "Periodic Table" brings to mind those dreadful days in sophomore-year chemistry class. I didn't think I'd be able to make it though this essay, "A Brief History of the Development of the Periodic Table," without being crippled by bad high-school memories. Lo and behold--I was delighted to find that I made to the end of this engrossing piece with nary a flashback to be had. In addition to a well-written overview of the creation of the periodic table from the seventeeth century through the 1950s, you'll also find links to some illumating primary-source materials. This is a fun read, and unlike those classes in year's past, it's not followed by a pop quiz. Mon, 31 Jan 2000 08:17:50 -0800
