Visit The Weird Worlds of A. E. van Vogt

The great A.E. van Vogt, voted a Grand Master of Science Fiction in 1996 and an inaugural inductee to the SF Hall of Fame, passed away last Wednesday, January 26. Visit his fantastic worlds through this website, which provides comprehensive information about van Vogt, including essays on the author and his writings, a bibliographic listing, and transcripts of two personal interviews with van Vogt. Most interesting to me, as a collector of classic SF, are the "Gallery" pages. With obvious passion, the author of this site, Magnus Axelsson, has painstakingly scanned as many pieces of van Vogt cover art as he could acquire, ranging from first-edition covers to tattered Pocket Books. Each book has a page with several pieces of art and a brief synopsis. A vast effort went into this offering, and anyone who visits will reap the rewards. Whether you mourned van Vogt's death, or are just learning his name as you read this, definitely check out this site, and READ some van Vogt! The world is a poorer place for his passing.
