Michelle Cottle, writing for the New York Times, responds to the question: what can be done to work more effectively with an "impossible" boss? Cottle suggests rallying with co-workers to discuss options and to act as a support group. When the time comes to act, to do so collectively demonstrates to your boss (and his or her superiors) "it can't be that everyone's crazy." That is, of course, as long as you choose not to jump ship. Cottle reminds readers of potential pitfalls and that any action taken, at any stage, can jeopardize your position. Nate Rice
