Having encountered virtually all of the household nemeses a homeowner has to deal with in my short lifetime (from mice to ants to termites to cockroaches), I must say I hold a special place in my heart for the humble rat. Did you know that rats can enter your home through a hole the size of a quarter? Thus a little caulk or plaster can go a long way to denying them access. There are a plethora of other rat-stopping tips and tricks here as well, from ways to spot their urine trails to advice on keeping them out of your garbage. The only thing missing here is a guide to rat traps and poison application. That, obviously, is where Orkin expects to come in. But for a corporate page this one is virtually free of shilling and provides a lot of useful information to rodent-phobic homeowners.
