I know that when I enter a church, the first thing I look for is the organ. In addition to the ethereal, majestic, haunting and rousing music these phenomenal instruments can produce, their exquisite visual aspects are truly an art form. The 30+ images in this online photo gallery are very clear, giving you a good look at some of the most spectacular organs in the world (click on the thumbnails to get an eyeful!). Divided into three galleries, organs are identified by time period and geographic origin. The organs within this site are from France, Spain, Northern Europe and Germany, with some dating back to the 16th century, in addition to an exhibition of modern Danish organs.
