Top » Fitness & Nutritionthe upside to testosteroneSite: http://207.201.156.159/stories/19992/0524992.htmWhile studies have been showing a connection between baldness and increased risk of heart problems, with the causal factor postulated to be higher testosterone levels, there appears to be more to the story. As this UniSci article points out, higher testosterone levels may actually be protective against high blood pressure, heart attacks and other health problems. However, men with higher testosterone may be more prone to engage in high-risk behavior (smoking, drinking, etc.), cancelling out the beneficial effects, and perhaps even going so far as to increase their risk of health problems. This is good to know, as it provides evidence to suggest that it is the behavior, rather than the testosterone, that needs to go. Thu, 16 Mar 2000 07:43:51 -0800 Submitted by: Allison Conner
