Well, maybe that would be a little premature--but I couldn't help but get excited when I read this article about how Colorado College is scrapping SAT scores in favor of (brace yourselves) playing with Legos. You heard right. One lucky Harvard Ph.D. candidate earned a cool $1.9 million in grant money to develop the protocol for the lego test and a number of other evaluating games, which are designed to assess leadership, initiative, creativity, and other personality/intelligence traits in students who (for certain reasons) don't do well on standardized tests. So what's next--a Kaplan course on how to build the lunar-rover model and the dune-buggy toy?
