Top » Computer Security & Privacythe lesser of two evilsSite: http://www.wired.com/news/politics/0,1283,33869,00.htmlAh, yes, the evil hacker. But what about the evil pedophile? Using hacker methods to bust those promoting and consuming child porn on the Internet is a sticky issue that has some anti-child porn groups scratching their heads. How can they accomplish their task without using strategies that would jeopardize their position in the battle? Those that are against child porn (which we can safely assume is the majority of the population) would hardly argue against using non-felonious methods to bust this problem. But what about using a felony to fight a felony? If a society is to uphold its own standards--even online--we really need to control practices that are illegal, even when they serve a moral purpose. If hypocracy and corruption are to be kept in check, something more needs to happen to resolve the dilemma. Anti-child porn groups are now working toward that solution.
