The Future of Call Accounting

Voice service itself may cost (next to) nothing. Does this spell doom for call accounting? According to this article, the result will be what some are calling "communications accounting." It's a well written article with a little selling involved. I wonder if the vendors were past advertisers in computer telephony, because there are many more companies implementing these services. Just think, if you read this article and your company already has communications accounting, someone would know how long you were online, how much bandwidth you were using, and be able to send out an automatic pink slip e-mail from the CEO. Just kidding.
