Iconoclast in an anorak

Site: http://www.wineanorak.com

By day Jamie Goode is a mild-mannered scientist--but at night he becomes the "Wine Anorak," travelling the wine world tracking down bargains and dissecting traditions. Anorak, a British term similar to nerd or geek, was leveled at Jamie at a tasting. His Wine Anorak site contains tasting notes, vineyard photographs, and a separate UK-focused section. Jamie takes a quizzical look at wine certainties and his investigations reveal serious discrepancies in the world's largest blind tasting, making me question the validity of the International Wine Challenge. He gives evidence that we do not all experience the same flavors in wines, and gives a working definition for terroir. This is a regularly updated site with well-reasoned articles that challenge assumptions. If you want something to think about while you drink, visit the WineAnorak.
