A Horse is a Horse, Of Course Of Course

Site: http://www.members.home.net/mister-ed

Even if you aren't old enough to remember watching him on TV, you "know" Mr. Ed, the talking horse of the 1960s who drove his stressed-out owner to the brink of insanity...and weekly hilarity. What you probably don't know is that this horse had (and still has) a huge international audience that has elevated him to cult status and earned him a stable full of websites. My favorite has a sound feed AND lyrics sheet for singing along with the Mr. Ed theme song, plus scads of black-and-white promo shots from the show. This site is touching in its respect for the show, cast, animal trainers, and (most of all) the horse himself. Horse buffs will love the account of how Mr Ed was trained and the story of his double, "Pumpkin," who stood in for him at public events, because the "real" Mr. Ed couldn't be trusted--much like his on-screen character! Trivia buffs will love reading about the show: Did you know that George Burns produced Mr. Ed? And whose voice was that coming out of that horse's mouth?
