This is a rich site in many ways. And though it has problems (technical glitches have slowed response time for their artists), the music fan searching for MP3 variety will find Riffage a welcome addition. For starters, the site's homepage is well organized and user friendly. A tabbed "Start" file offers a quick tour, suggestions for software and hardware, playlists, and an easy way to browse through genres. A drawback for the site's artists is the lack of something similar to the popular mpr.com DAM CD. And there are plenty of artists–-some great and some not worth the bandwidth. Luckily, there are lots of ways to check reviews and sift through the noise. It's a busy site: lots of banners and fancy graphics, flash tech, and other Internet design toys that while intriguing can slow things down a bit. Still, this is a good spot to surf for tunes.
