Twist and Surf

Site: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Alley/1973

A lot of people think "Twist and Shout" was a Beatles song, but those who follow R&B music know that it was first recorded by The Isley Brothers in 1962. Take a magical mystery tour of the Brothers career at this well-maintained fan site, which would earn the highest rating on my "Bob-o-meter" if it weren't littered with annoying Geocities pop-ups. Read--and in some cases, hear--interviews with the band members, browse a discography, or just cue up some MP3 samples of their greatest hits (and some real misfires too; their renditions of "Lay Lady Lay" and "Love the One You're With" are truly dreadful). All told, I give it a solid eight on the Bob-o-meter!
