3000 miles of rowing

In October of 2001, there will be an international rowboat race from Tenerife in the Canary Islands off Africa to Barbados in the West Indies, covering a distance of 3000 miles. Only one American team is entered, and this is their site. It describes the boat which all the rowing teams will use, the route, and you can even contribute to their not-for-profit "charity" in order to support their efforts. During the race, you will be able to track the entrants according to GPS positons. While this is not the way I would want to cross the Atlantic, more power to them!
