Get Medieval on Your Glass

Site: http://www.regia.org/brewing.htm

Mead snobs may beg to differ, but beer is the true medieval beverage, as this site on old-time brewing shows. The page gives a brief background on medieval beermaking, listing some of the strange ingredients that were used, such as bog myrtle, honey, yarrow, and cinnamon. But the jewel in the crown here is the "How To Brew" section, which shows you how to brew your own beer in a copper cauldron which, the proprietors insist, "adds a bit of flavor." Had I not just recently loaned my only copper cauldron to a friend making eye of newt soup for Valentine's Day, I would be all over this recipe tonight!
