Top » Science Fiction & FantasyScience Fiction of the Red PlanetSite: http://members.xoom.com/mars_ultor/culture/sf/sf.htmThis stunning web site offers vast information on some of the finest Science Fiction ever produced. The planet Mars has offered inspiration to writers since its discovery, and "Martian Science Fiction" covers well over a century of fascination, offering special sections on H.G. Wells' "War of the Worlds," Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoomian novels, and the Red/Green/Blue Mars trilogy of Kim Stanley Robinson. Art involving Mars is available here, as are a comprehensive bibliography of SF novels, poetry, non-fiction, and technical information; a Mediography; and "Web"-liography (links). The site's Filmography includes such classics as Abbot and Costello Go to Mars (1954) and Just Imagine (1930), and is also quite up-to-the-minute, listing Ghosts of Mars and Mission to Mars, both scheduled for release this year. It even lists film shorts and animations, including the 1962 Mel Blanc cartoon, "Martian Through Georgia," with one of my favorite Mel Blanc characters, the little Martian dude. As the relationship between ourselves and the Red Planet continues to evolve, this is a site well worth an extended visit. Thu, 16 Mar 2000 07:43:37 -0800 Submitted by: Teddi Stransky
