Ba-da-BOOM! You think you've got tax troubles? Try being Bill Gates, the world's richest man. Brother just got smacked upside the head with a $1 million property tax bill on his Medina, Washington home. Gates, whose estate is valued at nearly $110 million, was assessed a big-time increase after making numerous additions to his manse in the past year. So is a cool million enough of a levy for a home with a 22,800-square-foot main floor, seven bedrooms, and 24 bathrooms? The state of Washington apparently thinks so--and that's good enough for me.
