Haydn Seek

In considering the great classical composers, we tend to overlook the contributions of Franz Josef Haydn, the "little clown" of the classical pantheon. Yet I have been fascinated by Haydn ever since I was assigned to write a paper on him in grade school. Suffice to say, my research would have been made much simpler had I had access to this website. A veritable treasure trove of information on Haydn, his life, and work, the site is brimming with sound clips of Haydn's symphonic compositions, though samples of his concerti, chamber music, and other efforts have yet to be put online. After enjoying some of these, proceed to the concise bio on the main page, thence to a gallery of portraits of the composer and a comprehensive list of works. Conclude by surveying a bibliography of books about Haydn. There is only one word I can think of to describe this site: it's Haydnriffic!
