PROFESSIONAL RESOURCES AT ONLINE LEARNING NET

The Extension Courses at UCLA are a part of OnlineLearning.net. Their home page, at http://www.onlinelearning.net/ , is a tremendous example of the direction being taken in the Virtual Campuses of Higher Ed. From their "Online Learning Explained," to the gateway list of "Featured Courses for Today," this website is a highly useful resource for those involved in Higher Ed and new technologies. One of the most valuable tools on this site is the "Professional Resources" section. I linked into the list by choosing to view the entire "A to Z" list of 173 resources. Beware! For those of us with a passion for not just education, but for how technology is affecting and assisting education, this resource list will be good for many days of online travel! About 50% of The Professional Resources list contains links to business and e-commerce sites. For me, this is an important sign that the major Virtual Campuses are recognizing that Education is being transformed into a knowledge and learning INDUSTRY. As students, designers and educators, it is important to be familiar with the business side of education! I highly recommend this web resource for anyone dealing with Virtual Learning.
