Pros and cons of teaching abroad

Newspapers throughout the United States have run stories about the current teaching shortage in schools, and the shortage is likely to grow over the next few years as baby boomers retire. That shortage is already far worse in other countries, and will grow even worse as their demand for English speaking teachers outstrips their universities' capacity to prepare them. That means job opportunities for teachers are even greater abroad than in the USA. But not every English speaking teacher will be successful and happy abroad.
