The sound of a quarter dropping into a jukebox--"cla-chink!"--always warms a country music lover's heart. That's because good music is on the way. But now, as digital music becomes more and more acessible over the Web, the lovely sound of "cla-chink!" is quickly being replaced by another one: "click-click!" A great example is Earl's Jukebox, a free site offering a raucous mix of country, folk, and rockabilly, updated often, and boasting an impressive list of artists (both major stars and new-comers) from around the country. Good-ole-boy Earl (who parks his Stetson in L.A.) is a minor celeb on the Country Web cicuit.
