The History of Hip-Hop

I believe the title of this site says it all: The History of Hip-Hop. It's a pretty simple site, but it's got loads of historical data with portions of interviews of the forefathers of the music you just can't get enough of. Davey D's essay on the progression of hip-hop shows it to have been a way for those with verbal talents to join in with this music, which originally started in large part as a reaction to the sentiment that "'disco sucks.'" An accessible venue in which to express one's individuality and oral creativity, this genre has been growing strong since its official beginnings 20 years ago. This site is 11 pages long, but a quick read and worth it--I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
