Take heart, retirees. Thanks to some (all-too-rare) sensible legislation in Washington, you may soon be able to take that part-time job you're interested in without giving up a sizable chunk of your Social Security benefits. As this article from Fox News points out, Congress is finally recognizing the contribution we oldsters can make as part-time employees. Up till now, retirees making over $17,000 for the year could lose over 30% of our Social Security money. But now the federal barriers to our grocery bagging, valet parking, and burger flipping aspirations need not stand in our way. They say work makes you free and that's especially true for us seniors. Studies show that even the most menial work has a tremendous psychological benefit. So let's get out there and show America we still have a lot of gas left in the tank!
