FMD-ROM 140 GB CD'S ARE COMING

Constellation 3D, Inc., is currently working on an innovative data storage technique using FMD-ROM. The first release of this technology will store 140 GBs of data; that's 15 times more than the DVD-ROM format, folks. The difference between FMD-ROM and DVD-ROM is that it could utilize 100 or more layers deep in the media surface. This new media format uses fluorescent materials inside of a clear CD-ROM footprint. The projected costs for the drives will be a reasonable $100 and the media about $2. They should be available early 2001.
