Gay Marriage Knocks, Will Calif. Answer?

Pro or con? A major battle over gay marriage is being waged in California. Proposition 22, a.k.a. the Knight Initiative, will be voted on March 7. A pro-vote would put a ban on gay marriage in the state of California. A nay-vote would open the door to the possibility of gay marriage in the state. While not covered heavily by the mainstream press, Prop. 22 is the proverbial elephant in the room: different people see it completely different ways. No matter what other states decide, when the most populous state in the country speaks on an issue, it's bound to be heard. The Advocate, while unobjectively opposed to Prop. 22, provides a lengthy discussion of the issue and links to the bill's text and other supporting materials.
