James Cook's Endeavour

In 1768, James Cook set forth on his three year scientific voyage of the Pacific on the converted coal carrier H.M. Bark Endeavour (note: not Barque). This site documents the history of this voyage as well as the construction of a replica of this 143 foot, 5 inch vessel. The ship took five years to complete and was commissioned in 1994. The site is quite detailed in describing the facinating history of both Endeavours. The many pictures alone make the site worth visiting.
