DadsandDaughters.org – "Daddy, do I look fat?"

"Do I look fat?" That question is scary enough coming from your wife, but what about when it comes from your daughter? And what about when it comes from your 9-year-old daughter? It’s just that question that prompted the creation of Dads and Daughters, a national, non-profit membership organization of fathers with daughters. Some experts suggest that no one person has as much impact on a girl’s self-image as her father does. This site explores the implications of that power (and responsibility), provides tools to help battle some of the unhealthy messages girls get from the media, and celebrates the special relationships that can exist between Dads and Daughters. The organization is new in 1999, and in announcing its launch, it's giving up to 2000 U.S. schools a copy of the curriculum "Healthy Body Image: Teaching Kids to Eat and Love Their Bodies Too!"
