A New Precedent on The Right-to-Die

The Sacramento Third District Appeal Court’s new precedent that a Stockton woman, Rose Wendland, can determine when to withhold life-sustaining treatment for her disabled husband is a shock to everyone. What’s the shock? First, her husband was not in a vegetative state of health. Second, he was not terminally ill either. Nonetheless, Rose was able to prove that she acted in good faith and on sound medical advice, based on the fact that her husband expressed his wish not to be sustained by a machine and to let the nature of the illness takes its course.
