So much for all that claptrap about appreciating the recognition from your peers. Soul giant Barry White has few kind words for the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, even after the group bestowed upon him his first two Grammies ever last week. Seems White has never recovered from losing the Best New Artist statuette to Bette Midler way back in '74. "You don't forget things like that, man," grouses the apparently forever embittered bedroom balladeer. Take heart, Barry; at least you didn't lose out to the once-victorious Swingle Sisters. Now that would be real cause for pain.
