Wine from Georgia

We're not talking about Georgia in the Southern U.S., of course, but Georgia, the Black Sea republic that was part of the Soviet Union. One of the world's oldest and most historic wine regions, its wines and brandies are rarely seen in the West today. Often sweet and made from unfamiliar grapes like Rkatsiteli and Mtsvane, they seem quite exotic. This homey site based in Georgia doesn't sell wines (or even push them hard), but it opens an intriguing window into a land of wine that most of us don't know.
