IRS online--is it for you?

It sounds like a dream come true: file your tax return online! For years it has been talked about and dreamed of, but with more and more people feeling comfortable using the Internet for financial transactions, this may be a watershed year for online tax filing (just as last year was for online shopping). Here is a link to the IRS's "e-file" home page, which is (uncharacteristically) snazzy, easy, and full of color. The page starts out with a Q&A, then provides links and info on software packages. The best part: the IRS claims you'll get your return "within 3 weeks" of filing online! Can it be?
