Preparing for the New Networks

The race is on for companies trying to corner the market in the upcoming network transition. Tachion Networks, funded by Walden International and Morgenthaler Ventures, is preparing to release its first product. The Collapsed Central Office hopes to function as both a circuit-switched and packet network operator. The system will have to direct both types and the traffic that runs between them. The module is about two feet by two feet and aims to "centralize virtually all functions at a single, scaleable central point." Check out the rest of the specs in a TechWeb article.
