However, as this article from Computer Currents points out, identity theft is rapidly becoming the world's number one security problem. For this you can blame data collection firms, who sell or give your personal information to marketing companies looking to make a quick buck. So much data flying around the ether gives hackers, crackers, and other unsavory types more opportunities to steal your data, and with it your identity. It's enough to make a fellow burn all his credit cards, tear up his social secutity card, sell his computer, and move into a log cabin in the Idaho backwoods.
