A subsection of the excellent History Of Traditional Games website, this page on traditional lawn games is both educational and fun. Don't be put off by the unspectacular interface. It hides a wealth of information on six popular English lawn games: quoits, croquet, bowls, badminton (also known as battledore and shuttlecock), and tennis. A section on cricket is also listed, but the information has not yet been added to the site. Click on your game of choice to read a concise page of historical background and access links to exterior websites. Who knew there were so many sites out there on croquet?
