More Money Spent on Legal Gaming in the U.S.

International Gaming and Business Wagering (IGWB) magazine's annual analysis of consumer spending in the gaming industry has confirmed that legal gaming has become a popular and accepted form of entertainment in the U.S.. The industry generated 54.3 billion in consumer spending in 1998, compared to 40 billion spent on movie tickets, spectator sports, cruise ships, recorded music, and theme parks combined. According to the "Gross Annual Wager 1998," this is a spending increase of 6.6% in the gaming industry.
