Sony's bogus new MP3 player

Site: http://www.thestandard.com/article/display/0,1151,12723,00.html

Two nights ago I went to a local electonics store with one mission: to buy an MP3 player. I had two prospective candidates--the new Diamond Rio 500 and the new Sony "Music Clip." Both look cool; both have 64Mbs of memory: and both come from trusted brands. At first the Sony had an edge. It's smaller and more space-age. But thank my lucky stars, I decided to go with the Rio. Now I find out that the Sony music clip is a fraud. Because Sony has a huge stake in the music biz, it uses dubious "security" software for the Music Clip, which makes listening to MP3s from the Net nearly impossible. Who wants the hassle? Consumers beware!
