This site lists itself as the mariner's resource for worldwide maritime security information. We tend to think of this as an Asian or Indonesian problem, but there are about 1000 boats stolen per month in the U.S. alone. On March 2, 2000, there was a hostile ship boarding incident in Port Newark, N.J. They also produce a yearly report on worldwide maritime piracy which can be requested for free, and there is an interesting essay on the pros and cons of carrying a weapon on board. Kind of takes the glamour out of it, doesn't it?
