Court is now in session. eBay has teamed up with SquareTrade.com to offer free mediation services for transaction disputes for three months. Think of it as People's Court for the online auction crowd. Sellers sign on with SquareTrade as an act of good faith and to protect themselves from deadbeat bidders. Bidders come to SquareTrade to file complaints and recover money for goods that may have been damaged, or even worse, never sent. If both parties respond promptly the process can take as little as seven days. The only problem is getting the offending party to respond at all. What's next--a cyber bounty hunter?
