Top » Music: Classical & OperaEASY MUSIC THEORY--WITH MIDI EXAMPLESSite: http://www.musictheory.halifax.ns.caTime for school, boys and girls, but I promise this will be painless. There are 26 excellent lessons here; each one is a bite-sized nibble that should take perhaps 20 or 30 minutes or so to read and digest. The lessons are attractively laid out, and very well-organized and well-written. They cover the basics of music theory, and a quiz follows each lesson, to let you make sure you have understood the material. The best aspect of these lessons is the liberal sprinkling of short midi examples that allow you to hear the concepts while you read about them--a truly useful asset in music! And, if some aspect of music theory still isn't covered, you can post your questions at the online discussion forum: The website's author, Gary Ewer, seems to answer all questions within a day.
