snatched!...windows 2001

An illegal version of Windows 2001 (codenamee Whistler, at least a year away from relase) has already been pirated, leaked, and posted on the Net. Microsoft launched an investigation, of course, but has made no comment. This build, 2211.1, of Whistler is based on the Windows NT kernel and seems to look almost identical to Windows 2000 Professional, sources say. A Net news service is reporting that Build 2211.1 was posted Tuesday morning and "spread as per usual, like wildfire." Get the full story at ZDNet.
