Ever Seen A Black Polar Bear?

Site: http://greenpeaceusa.org/arctic

The way gas prices are headed these days you'd think alternative energy industries would be booming. Not so. Take a company like BP Amoco for instance. They obviously had American motorists in mind when they invested in the world's first offshore oil project in the Arctic Ocean. The project, named Northstar, apparently runs a one in four chance of causing an oil spill. According to Greenpeace's Arctic Action site, the money BP is putting into this project alone is enough to make eco-friendy solar energy a cheap and competitive alternative to fossil fuels. But cheap alternatives aren't the only novel ideas you can find on this site. You can also get daily updates and personal profiles from the Greenpeace volunteers who are keeping tabs on BP's Arctic escapades and getting arrested while doing it. When Northstar is fully operational I'm sure the site will likewise provide wonderful photos of the world's latest species of bear: the Oil-Slicked Polar Bear.
