STRANGE ART

Weird. Disturbing. Ghastly. Embarrassing. These are only some of the adjectives (you can think of some on your own, surely) that apply to the finds gracing Jim Shaw's website, Thrift Store Paintings. With a deft minimalist touch, the mysterious Mr. Shaw offers, without comment, a selection of 17 unusual pictures. The discriminating collector can only imagine hanging these on her own wall: "Little Girl with Teeth" over the buffet or "Man with No Crotch Sits Down with Girl" above the fireplace. Be warned: "Psycho Lady" might give you goosebumps and nightmares, but without a doubt you'll be inspired to re-think that bare spot on your wall.
