Contemporary cuban art

This site presents some unique and unusual work done by Cuban artists with a contemporary flair. These works are not only interesting for their aesthetic appeal and ability to stir the imagination, but they represent the collective struggles and cultural issues of the people behind them. One particularly compelling piece is El vómito es la cultura (Vomit is Culture) by Tonel (Antonio Eligio Fernández), which stirs mixed emotions, indeed! This exhibition was held at the Arizona State University from 9/98 to 12/98, and has graciously been preserved online.
